August 31st

USA Modified event

Cory had decent practices and had made plenty of
adjustments and thought he had the right setup
combination when he went out to qualify, but the
car wouldn't shift in to gear, so he had to start at
the back o both the heat and the feature. The heat
race looked very promising until Cory found himsel
one of the many victims of Ralph Baxter IIIs
inability to control his own car and was barely able
to keep himself from being spun out by the out of
control driver. It took 6 or 7 laps to catch back up
to the rest of traffic and by that time the race was
over, with Cory in the 5th position. We are hoping
Baxter takes up golf or perhaps tennis for a hobby
next season. Cory started around the 20th position
for the feature and ran well, holding his own against
the other drivers. There were a lot of cautions, and
near misses for Cory but he kept his head on
straight, his eyes on the traffic ahead of him and
stayed out of trouble and brought home around a
14th place finish.
Jake had a great start to the day by clenching fast
qualifier and running a very solid second place in
the fast heat race. The feature race on the other
hand was just riddled with cautions, luckily most of
which did not involve Jake in any way, and he made
his way up to fourth place a couple of times after
staring in the back, and then being sent to the
back, and then being sent back a couple of positions
for jumping the start. Jake was trying to make a
move on 3rd place when something in the car just
let go and he was forced to pull off the track for a
mechanical failure. The guys are still trying to
figure out exactly what failed in the car, but will get
it squared away and we will be back out in 2 weeks!
The team is taking off the weekend of the 6th to
join Rory and Morgan in celebrating their marriage
so we will see everyone the following weekend!

August 30th
Baer Field Speedway

Jake had a decent night at Baer Field, it was retro
night, so he ran a dash instead of a heat, which he
won, and then he finished 5th in the feature

August 23rd
Angola Speedway

Cory finally got the mod finished and out on the
track for the first time of the year! It was a great
first night, Cory qualified mid pack, and won his
heat race. He was running great in the feature and
was keeping pace with the faster cars without
problem until about halfway thru another car made
contact with him going into turn 3, breaking a
shock and causing enough damage to end his night.
It was still a great night though! Chad Richardson
joined us this weekend driving Jake's mini stock,
he qualified decent and also won his heat race.
Chad jumped out in front in the feature race and led
the entire first half of the race before he was shown
the black flag for breaking out of his qualifying time
and having to give up the lead. All in all a great fun
night for the team though, everyone was happy at
the end of the night.

August 16th
Baer Field Speedway

Jake ran Baer Field and did a good job, he qualified
4th, and then ran 4th in the heat. In the feature,
coming around turn 2 there was contact made from
another car and the cars got locked together! After
a 30+ minute caution in which Jake had to fight to
keep them from puncturing his tire to get the cars
apart, the race restarted and Jake had to go to the
tail because of being involved in the caution. Jake
came all the way from the back and ended up 4th
by the end of the race.

August 8th
Baer field Speedway

Cory raced the Mini tonight, and qualified 3rd,
struggled a lot with the cars handling, and ended up
7th in the heat and in the feature.

August 2nd
Plymouth Speedway

Jake ran 3rd or 4th in the heat race and then 7th
in the feature

July 26th
Plymouth Speedway

Jake qualified 10th, and then the guys found
something in the handling. Jake went on to "win"
the heat race, but broke out and ran under his time,
earning the black flag. Because of the black flag in
the heat race, he had to start dead last, 24th, in
the feature. by lap 5 he was in 11th place, and
ended up 4th at the end of the night, and had a
great time doing it.

Jake qualified 6th, finished 4th in the heat and in
the feature.

Qualifying rained out, Jake ran well, finishing 1st in
the heat and 3rd in the feature!

Jake qualified 6th, ran 2nd in the heat and finished
4th in the feature

Cory ran the car this week, He qualified 3rd,
finished 3rd in the heat and 4th in the feature

Plymouth Speedway

With BaerField Speedway rained out, the team
headed to the only local track still running for the
night, Plymouth. The team showed up at the track
and after only getting 10 laps of practice realized
that the Plymouth Mini Stock rules were quite a bit
more liberal than the BFS rules are! After some
adjustments Jake still managed to pull out a 3rd
place in the heat race, and then was going for the
lead in the feature and had to check up for some
slower traffic. Unfortunately, the cars behind him
didn't check up and ended up KOing Jake in the
rear, ending his night early. The guys liked the
track though and had a great time.

June 14th
Baer Field Speedway

Jake qualified 2nd, and then finished 7th in the
heat race, but rallied well to finish 2nd in the
feature race!

Jake qualified in 3rd, finished 2nd in the heat and
went on to finish 4th in the feature.

In his first night of the 2008 season Jake qualified
7th, finihed 5th in the heat and then 4th in the
feature.
