August 28th
Another good night over all for the team, Cory and Jake qualified 1st and 2nd in the mini stocks.
In the heat race, Dick Soulle jumped into a fairly early lead and was able to run away
before Cory or Jake could make their way thru traffic.  Jake was able to maneuver his
way thru the pack faster than Cory was, and ran a solid 2nd place, but didn't have
the time necessary to run down Soulle.  Cory was caught up in an erratic move by the
driver of the 1 car, and his toe was knocked out of whack quite a bit, but he was able
to stick it out for 3rd place.  In the feature, Kevin Howard in the 37 led a
pretty significant portion of the race, but about 10 laps in Cory managed to catch
and pass him for the lead, and stayed there til the end.  Jake was running very
a very solid race, when suddenly his right front tire gave way, and he found his car
turning to the right, into the number 2.  The 2 car was able to continue the race, but
Jake's night was finished, but not before he proved that he will be a force to be
reckoned with in future races!

August 14th

It was a crazy busy night! The team decided to race in Angola this weekend, so
everyone headed up there to watch Cory and Jake in the mini stocks. Jake qualified 1st
and Cory 4th, then in the heat race Cory won and Jake finished 2nd. Early race contact
with another car found Cory with a cut tire. Jake ran hard the whole race and got up to
2nd place pretty early, but the rest of the race was caution free and Jake just wasn't
able to close in on Cliff Bennet and ended up 2nd, but it was a great run! Then the team
found out that Baer Field was running their mini stock race last, so we loaded up the
cars and headed to Baer Field to catch the feature race there. Luckily the Super Late
Model race had quite a few cautions and we were able to make it with time to spare, the
team got Cory's tire changed and made the necessary handling changes to make the
cars work on the new track. Feature time came and Jake was able to get out front
pretty early in the race and stayed there the whole time. Cory worked his way thru and
got to 2nd place and just wasn't able to run Jake down, so Jake got the win with Cory in
second. Unfortunately for Jake, his caar was still Angola rules legal, which makes it
Baer Field illegal, so he was disqualified in tech and the win went to Cory, but Jake did
an awesome job and in spite of the DQ we were all pretty happy at the end of the night!

August 6th

Cory was back in the mini this week, for the International Harvester race, he and Jake
qualified 1st and 2nd. there were no heat races, but the feature was great, with both
team members battling it out against each other for the lead. Cory was able to edge
Jake for first and Jake came home in second place. the guys did a great job and did a
few crowd pleasing double donuts after the race!

July 31st

This week Rory tried his hand at Mini Stock racing, he and Jake raced at Baer Field,
Jake qualified 1st, Rory in 5th. Rory finished the feature in 4th place and Jake had
problems and didn't finish, placing him in 10th

June 19th

Not a good night for the team, Cory qualified decent in the mod, and finished 4th in the
heat, but unfortunately something in the front end broke in the feature sending Cory
into the tires. the car is pretty messed up, and so it looks like he will be getting the
mini stock out for the duration of the year!

May 29th

Well, Cory did get the car done in time for Saturday night, but he wasn't happy with the
handling of the car most of the night. He qualified 12th out of a field of 24 cars, and
pretty much used the heat race as a pracctice session, finishing 7th. The feature
started out dicey, with a few restarts, and a few laps in Rick Coe in the 98 car checked
up to avoid an accident and Cory hit him in the rear and spun him unintentionally.
Since the spin happened in the course of avoiding an accident, neither driver should
have lost their position, but for some reason the BFS officials decided to put Coe to the
back. Cory felt that neither of them should be sent to the back, but if someone had to
go to the back, it should be him, so he tapped out and went to the back, allowing Coe to
remain in his spot. The car was handling much better by the end of the feature, and
Cory was able to work his way from last to 11th by the end of the race. All in all not a
bad night, Mods don't race next weekend, but Jake may have his mini stock done, and
Cory may get the old mini stock out for that race as well, but we will most likely be at
the track!

May 22nd

Started out to be a good night, there were 25 cars for the 50 lap feature. Cory qualified
12th, and went on to get 4th in the heat race. The feature began with Cory running
well, only to break a drive shaft to end the night with a 20th place finish. He is still
undetermined if he is going to get the car out for the memorial day weekend race, and
mods don't race the next week, so we will see everyone in the mod the next week for
sure! Might get the mini stock out between now and then too!
